Redesign = Improved Page Performance

Page impressions from Google nearly doubled after the redesign (this is without any other SEO changes or plugins).

WOW! I knew a redesign of our web page was needed, but I was pleasantly surprised to see how a redesign instantly improved our page performance. So, I thought I’d post a couple of things you can do to improve your site’s visibility in google. Immediately after the redesign of this website, my Google page impressions went way up.  Nearly a 200% increase. That’s without working on SEO (search engine optimization) yet.

Why the jump? The main reason is I moved from home-built HTML and PHP pages to WordPress.  Google loves WordPress out of the box. A word of caution, not all themes are Google friendly. Call us if you need to discuss a particular theme and want to know more of the themes we recommend. All our customers have access to great themes at no additional charge.

The percentages are great, but those numbers are small and there’s still work to do. But before I go, let me ask you these important questions.

  1. Are you measuring your site’s performance (hits, page views, unique visitors, etc)?  If you are not, get the FREE Google Analytics today. You can’t know how fast you are now or how much you need to approve without a stop watch.
  2. Are you using WordPress? It’s also free and even simple sites without a blog can benefit from having WordPress as their CMS (content management system). Add to that some great SEO plugins and now “you’re cooking with peanut oil.” (my apologies to Phil Robertson).

Let us know if we can help you with converting your site to WordPress.
