Microsoft: Security hole affects more than just Internet Explorer 7.
Microsoft released an updated advisory to warn that a flaw in Internet Explorer (IE) affects much more than IE 7 and to spread the word on how to protect yourself [if you must use MSIE] that can help “limit the damage” from actual attacks.
ZDNet.com however, is suggesting “Until Microsoft can issue a patch — out-of-cycle or otherwise — you should consider using an alternative browser like Mozilla Firefox or Opera. If you must use Internet Explorer, be sure to securely configure the browser…”
I agree. This has been a bad week for Microsoft (see my virus warning from just a couple days ago).
If you are reading this with Internet Explorer (the big E) there really is very little reason to. I highly suggest going to any one of the following:
http://www.getfirefox.com (my personal recommendation)
http://www.apple.com/safari/
http://www.google.com/chrome
http://www.opera.com/
