Updating Our Terms and Conditions: What’s New at Optimus Media

by | Uncategorized | 0 comments

Hey Optimus Media community! We’ve recently taken a fresh look at our Terms and Conditions (T&C) to make them clearer, fairer, and a little more customer-friendly—while still keeping our services running smoothly. We’re excited to share what’s changed and how it benefits you. Here’s a quick rundown of the updates, effective as of February 25, 2025.

A Softer, Clearer Tone

First off, we’ve dialed back the legal jargon. The old T&C sounded a bit stern (think “we reserve the right” at every turn), so we’ve rewritten it to feel more like a conversation. Our goal? To make sure you know what to expect without needing a law degree to decode it. We’ve also added a warm welcome and a promise to help if anything’s unclear—because we’re here for you!

More Notice, More Options

We used to say we could add terms for new services whenever we wanted. Now, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice via email or our website if we update the T&C. You’ll always know what’s coming, and sticking around means you’re cool with the changes. Plus, we’ve made cancelling easier—you can reach us at 731-412-0766, through our website portal, or by certified mail (sorry, still no email cancellations to keep things secure).

Billing Made Friendlier

Billing’s gotten a tweak too. You’ll still get 30 days’ notice for fee changes, and we’ve clarified that anniversary dates on the 29th, 30th, or 31st shift to the last day of shorter months. Forgot to update your email? We’ll try to reach you anyway, but please keep it current to avoid missing notices. Late payments now have a 5-day grace period before a $5 or 1.5% fee kicks in, and we’ll only suspend overdue accounts after that buffer.

Fairer Termination and Refunds

If something goes wrong—like a violation of our rules—we’ll try to warn you before suspending or terminating your account, unless it’s a serious legal issue. No more sudden cutoffs without a heads-up (when possible). Refunds for partial months are still off the table, but annual plan holders can now request a pro-rated refund within 120 days of signing up, up from 90. We might even consider credits for unused time beyond that—it’s case-by-case.

Using Our Services Responsibly

We’ve tightened up what “good conduct” means. Instead of vague terms like “immoral” or “vulgar,” we’re focusing on clear no-nos: illegal stuff, copyright violations, harassment, or sending more than 50 unsolicited emails per hour (that’s our new bulk mail limit). If you slip up, we’ll usually start with a warning rather than jumping straight to termination—unless it’s a big deal like a hacking attempt.

Your Content, Our Oversight

You’ve got freedom to use our services for your business or personal needs, but we’ll step in if the content’s illegal, infringes rights, or promotes extreme violence or hate. We’ll let you know if we remove something unless it’s an urgent situation. It’s your content—we’re just keeping the platform safe.

Service Reliability and Credits

Outages happen (the internet’s not perfect!), but we’re committed to minimizing them. If downtime stretches beyond 12 hours, we’ll look at offering credits at our discretion—our way of saying sorry for the hassle. We might also tweak services to serve you better, with 30 days’ notice when we can.

Promises and Limits

We promise professional, industry-standard service that follows telecom laws, but we’re not on the hook for gear or software you bring in. Everything’s “as is,” and while we can’t guarantee a glitch-free internet, we’ll hustle to fix issues on our end. Our liability’s capped at what you’ve paid us, keeping things fair for both sides.

Why the Change?

We want you to feel good about choosing Optimus Media—not just protected, but valued. These updates balance our need to run a solid business with your need for transparency and flexibility. It’s all about building trust and making your experience better.

Got questions? Hit us up at 731-412-0766 or through our website. The full T&C are live now—check them out and let us know what you think. Thanks for being part of the Optimus Media family!
